The Department of General Medicine / Internal Medicine is led by a number of outstanding Consultant physicians who are dedicated to excellence in patient care and provide evidence based medicine and management of ailments as per internationally accepted protocols. Internal medicine not only provides curative care but also preventive care and education through comprehensive health checks in out-patient clinics.
The consultants are specially skilled in the management of patients with multi system disorders through coordination with other specialists like cardiologists, nephrologists, pulmonologists, neurologists etc . This department is supported by Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Wards (HDW), Laboratory Medicine / Pathology, Radiology & Imaging Services ( MRI, CT & Ultrasonography, Echocardiography) and 24 hour Ambulance Service.
The department of internal medicine focuses on counselling and treating patients regarding common lifestyle disease like diabetes and hypertension. The department is also actively engaged in promoting preventive health care in the community by participating in outreach clinics and organizing health camps in the periphery.
